PMMA樹(shù)脂是無(wú)毒環(huán)保的材料，可用于生產(chǎn)衛(wèi)生潔具等，具有良好的化學(xué)穩(wěn)定性、和耐候性。PMMA樹(shù)脂在破碎時(shí)不易產(chǎn)生尖銳的碎片，美國(guó)，日本等國(guó)家和地區(qū)已在法律中作出強(qiáng)制性規(guī)定，中小學(xué)及幼兒園建筑用玻璃必須采用PMMA樹(shù)脂。目前，全國(guó)各地加快了城市建設(shè)步伐，街頭標(biāo)志、廣告燈箱和電話(huà)亭等大量出現(xiàn)，其中所用材料中有相當(dāng)一部分是PMMA樹(shù)脂。北京奧運(yùn)工程的戶(hù)外彩建材也大量使用了綠環(huán)保的PMMA樹(shù)脂。

注塑模工藝條件：
干燥處理：PMMA具有吸濕性因此加工前的干燥處理是必須的。建議干燥條件為90C、2-4小時(shí)。
熔化溫度：240-270C。 模具溫度：35-70C。
注射速度：中等
化學(xué)和物理特性PMMA具有優(yōu)良的光學(xué)特性及耐氣侯變化特性。白光的穿透性高達(dá)92%。PMMA制品具有很低的雙折射，特別適合制作影碟等。PMMA具有室溫蠕變特性。隨著負(fù)荷加大、時(shí)間增長(zhǎng)，可導(dǎo)致應(yīng)力開(kāi)裂現(xiàn)象。PMMA具有較好的抗沖擊特性。
由于PMMA表面硬度不高、易擦毛、抗沖擊性能低、成型流動(dòng)性能差等缺點(diǎn)，PMMA的改性相繼出現(xiàn)。如甲基丙烯酸甲酯與苯乙烯、丁二烯的共聚，PMMA與PC的共混等。 超級(jí)透明PMMA材料主要用于手機(jī)保護(hù)屏，該產(chǎn)品分為有硬化涂層，沒(méi)有硬化涂層兩種.其特點(diǎn)是透光率極好，沒(méi)有雜質(zhì)，靜電保護(hù)膜，表面硬化厚后硬度可達(dá)5-6H以上. 目前特別推薦用于硬化處理的PMMA材料，國(guó)內(nèi)稱(chēng)為生板。
