How to connect a battery in Series?

Yes. There should be no problem, the battery is considered non-spillable, non-hazardous, since it is a absorbed glass mat design. These sealed lead acid valve regulated (VRLA) batteries are classified as "Battery, wet non-spillable, not subject to regulations" by DOT and IMO. By IATA they are classified as "Not restricted for air transport" and they are in compliance with IATA/ICAO special provision A67. For the gelled electrolyte batteries, they are classified as "Battery, wet, filled with acid, UN2794, Class 8". They can be legally shipped via air with special packaging etc.
How do I Jump Start my Battery using booster cables?
WARNING-BATTERIES PRODUCE EXPLOSIVE GASES. These instructions are designed to minimize the explosion hazard. Keep sparks, flames and cigarettes away from batteries at all times. Both batteries should be of the same voltage (6, 12, etc.).

目前,提高UPS的使用性能,延長其使用壽命亟待解決。蓄電池作為UPS的重要組成部件,提高其使用性能變得至關(guān)重要,本文以UPS電池選型為例,介紹了其蓄電池型號(hào)選擇原則,指出影響UPS電池使用壽命的幾種因素,同時(shí)提出了UPS電池的正確使用方法及維護(hù)措施,以科學(xué)的手段使UPS可靠、穩(wěn)定地運(yùn)行。
1 UPS電池選型及電池容量計(jì)算
正確的選擇UPS后備電池容量,對(duì)UPS的正常運(yùn)行至關(guān)重要。電池容量選擇偏小不僅不能滿足UPS后備時(shí)間,還會(huì)因電池放電倍率太大,嚴(yán)重影響電池的性能及使用壽命,同時(shí)給系統(tǒng)的穩(wěn)定運(yùn)行帶來極大的隱患。
蓄電池容量C(Ah)是指在標(biāo)準(zhǔn)環(huán)境溫度下,電池在給定時(shí)間達(dá)到放電終止電壓時(shí),可提供的電流I(A)與持續(xù)放電時(shí)間t(h)的乘積。
蓄電池容量C(Ah)=電流I(A)×持續(xù)放電時(shí)間t(h)即:
蓄電池是通過UPS的逆變器向負(fù)載放電,由于UPS向負(fù)載供電功率是恒定的,所以電池也是恒功率放電。在為UPS選擇電池時(shí),其主機(jī)容量、蓄電池功率、備電時(shí)間、電池容量等都是重要的參數(shù)。因此,在UPS系統(tǒng)中后備電源選型方法中最普遍的方法是恒功率法。這種方法比較簡便,根據(jù)UPS功率計(jì)算得出每單體蓄電池所要承受的恒功率放電值,查找蓄電池廠家提供的恒功率放電參數(shù)中對(duì)應(yīng)的備用時(shí)間與放電終止電壓要求,查找出廠家提供的恒功率放電參數(shù)中對(duì)應(yīng)時(shí)間、終止電壓值、恒功率參數(shù)均達(dá)到要求的蓄電池型號(hào)。首先計(jì)算在后備時(shí)間內(nèi),每個(gè)2V單體電池至少應(yīng)向UPS提供的恒功率。
恒功率P(nc)計(jì)算公式為:

η—逆變器轉(zhuǎn)換效率;

我們可以在恒功率放電參數(shù)表中,找出等于或者稍大于P(nc)的功率值,這一功率值所對(duì)應(yīng)的型號(hào)即能夠滿足UPS系統(tǒng)的要求。如果表中所列的功率值均小于P(nc).可以通過兩組電池并聯(lián)的方式達(dá)到要求。我們以雙登12VUPS電池選型計(jì)算為例詳細(xì)說明上述問題。
假設(shè)UPS功率為P(VA)=80kVA,電池后備時(shí)間為15min,負(fù)載功率因數(shù)PF=0.9,逆變器轉(zhuǎn)換效率η=0.94,UPS直流電壓為384V,放電終止電壓為1.67V/單格,蓄電池應(yīng)如何配置?
UPS直流電壓為384V,可以確定12V電池的只數(shù)N=384/12=32只,1只雙登12VUPS電池單體數(shù)n=6.由此我們可以確定每個(gè)單體電池的放電功率為:
因此,備電時(shí)間為15min,放電終止電壓為1.67V,其電池功率至少需398.2W,綜合成本因素,從表1查到,選用6-GFM-100H電池即符合需求。
2 影響UPS電池使用壽命的因素
目前UPS使用的電池基本上為免維護(hù)鉛酸蓄電池,其浮充使用設(shè)計(jì)壽命一般可達(dá)7~15年,鉛酸蓄電池的使用壽命與放電次數(shù)、放電深度、工作溫度、浮充電壓及放電電流有著直接的關(guān)系。
(1)放電深度與放電次數(shù)
鉛蓄電池反復(fù)地大量放出蓄電池電量(深放電)將縮短電池壽命,壽命與放電深度和放電次數(shù)的關(guān)系可以用圖1表示。
(2)工作溫度
蓄電池浮充使用時(shí)的充電電壓與環(huán)境溫度有關(guān),當(dāng)溫度升高時(shí),充電電壓應(yīng)降低,以防止造成過充電;當(dāng)環(huán)境溫度降低時(shí),充電電壓應(yīng)提高,以防止充電不足,溫度與充電電壓的關(guān)系曲線可以用圖2表示。工作溫度對(duì)電池的容量影響較大,隨著環(huán)境溫度的降低容量減小。環(huán)境溫度變化1℃時(shí)的電池容量變化稱為容量的溫度系數(shù),溫度與容量的關(guān)系曲線可以用圖3表示。
