SONO 1100 extreme temperature ultrasonic couplan
Sono 1100 provides coupling for thickness gaging from 700oF to 1100oF (371oto 593oC). Sono 1100 will maintain acoustic coupling at high temperature beyond 15 seconds to give ample time to obtain thickness readings. In most cases, the signal strength increases with time to the point of the couplant’s thermal decomb.
Temperature Operating Range
Thickness Gaging: 700°to 1100℉(371°to593℃)
Benefits
·Provides an extended high temperature open time b for longer inspections or to optimize thickness readings
·Medium viscosity paste
·Non-toxic, non-irritating bula provides inspector safety
Safety
·Non-toxic, non-irritating
·Smokes less at elevated temperatures than most high temperature coupling materials
·Contains NO perfluorocarbons or fluorinated material, which can cause adverse health effects at high temperatures
Removal
·Immediaby wipe the couplant off the face of the transducer with a cloth material that does not present a fire hazard.

Extreme Temperature Guidelines
·For best results, allow a few seconds of “melt-time” before taking temperature reading. Signal attenuation may occur if used at lower than recommended temperature.
·Sonotech couplants do not contain perfluorocarbons; thus "polymer fume fever" is not an operator hazard.
Flash Point and Auto Ignition
Sonotech provides the flash point and auto-ignition temperature for each high temperature product.
·The Flash Point of a product is the lowest temperature at which vapors arising from the product will ignite momentarily when exposed to a flame.
·Auto Ignition is the temperature at which a substance ignites without other sources of energy.
·The system for flash point determination for high temperature products (>680oF/360oC) utilizes the Cleveland Open Cup test in which vapors are allowed to escape and therefore results in a higher temperature than a closed cup test.
Auto Ignition temperature……1160℉(626℃) Cleveland open cup flash point…555°F(291℃)
