The CP 5623 is an innovation of the current SIMATIC NET CP 5613 A2 for the PG/PC PCI Express connection system to PROFIBUS up to 12 MBit/s. The card is used in computer platbs with a PCI Express connection system, e.g. IPC, desktop PCs or server systems

Innovation of PG/PC slot technology for PCI Express
The modules are connected via PCI Express x1, which means that the communication processor CP 5623 can be flexibly used in PCI Express slots x1, x4, x8 or x16.

DP slave functionality for CP 5623
The communication processor CP 5623 can be used as a DPV0 slave or as a DPV1 slave with a max. I/O area of 244 bytes b/output/diagnostics. The DPS Base interface will be used as a call interface for the CP 5624 DP slave part and for the CP 5623 DP slave. This enables applications of the CP 5624 DP slave part to also be used on the CP 5623 DP slave.
Fast process data exchange - access to process data by means of direct access to the dual port RAM of the hardware
High computing perbance in the PG/PC - reduces workload of host CPU by preprocessing the communication on the hardware
Use of different operating system environments – driver as source code for porting to different operating system environments
