有源 RS 485 端接電阻用來(lái)終接總線段。電源與站無(wú)關(guān)。終端電阻是單獨(dú)由其它I/O部件持久地供電或用上游I/O引出的電壓。在終接總線系統(tǒng)時(shí)，可以有選擇地耦合和去耦合站（例如 ET 200S），而不會(huì)引起故障。
有源 RS 485 終端元件用于對(duì) PROFIBUS 實(shí)施終接，從而確保 RS 485 信號(hào)的規(guī)定水平并抑制線路反射。由于是單獨(dú)運(yùn)行，與現(xiàn)場(chǎng)設(shè)備無(wú)關(guān)，因此可以無(wú)反應(yīng)地從總線中斷開。
