The 3500 / 20 rack interface module (RIM) is the primary interface of the 3500/20 125744-02 rack. It supports Bently Nevada proprietary protocols for configuring racks and retrieving mechanical inbation. The rim must be located in slot 1 of the rack (next to the power supply). Rim provides the connections required to support the current Bently Nevada communication processor (external transient data interface (tdix) and external dynamic data interface (ddix)). Although rim does provide some functions common to the entire rack, rim is not part of the critical monitoring path. The operation (or non operation) of rim has no impact on the normal operation of the whole monitoring system.
