In bridge mode, mvi46-mbp redirects DF1 PCCC messages to the pre configured path where the Logix controller is located. Therefore, in this mode, the module will rely on the Logix controller to map DF1 requests to preconfigured Logix tags. Bridge mapping configuration is a two-step process.
First, the mvi46-mbp must be configured to route a specific DF1 address to the controller path.
The second step is to map the DF1 address to the Logix tag using rslogix 5000. DF1 message initiators (such as DCS gateway) will send messages to a specific DF1 address on RS232. You must configure mvi46-mbp to route messages to a specific DF1 address of the Logix controller. This will allow the correct Logix controller to map requests to Logix PLC / SLC mapping tags. For each roadmap, you must enter the two beters described in the table below.
The second part of the bridge routing mapping setting is to map the received DF1 request sent by the Logix controller to the Logix tag. This must be done at Rockwell Automation rslogix 5000. Open the logical menu item in the menu bar of the mapping table created in rslogix 5000 by selecting the mapping PLC / SLC message from it. You must enter the requested file number and Logix tagName pair to ensure that read or write requests are routed to the correct Logix tag.
