    它是將PLC各組成部分集裝在一個機殼內，輸入、輸出接線端子及電源進線分別在機箱的上、下兩側，并有相應的發(fā)光二極管顯示輸入/輸出狀態(tài)。面板上留有編程器的插座、EPROM存儲器插座、擴展單元的接口插座等。編程器和主機是分離的，程序編寫完畢后即可拔下編程器。

    輸入/輸出點數較多的大、中型和部分小型PLC采用模塊式結構。

    模塊式PLC采用積木搭接的方式組成系統，便于擴展，其CPU、輸入、輸出、電源等都是獨立的模塊，有的PLC的電源包含在CPU模塊之中。PLC由框架和各模塊組成，各模塊插在相應插槽上，通過總線連接。PLC廠家備有不同槽數的框架供用戶選用。用戶可以選用不同檔次的CPU模塊、品種繁多的I/O模塊和其他特殊模塊，硬件配置靈活，維修時更換模塊也很方便。采用這種結構形式的有SIEMENS的S5系列、S7-300、400系列，OMRON的C500、C1000H及C2000H等以及小型CQM系列。
    述兩種結構各有特色，整體式PLC結構緊湊、安裝方便、體積小，易于與被控設備組成一體，但有時系統所配置的輸入輸出點不能被充分利用，且不同PLC的尺寸大小不一致，不易安裝整齊；模塊式PLC點數配置靈活，但是尺寸較大，很難與小型設備連成一體。為此開發(fā)了疊裝式PLC，它吸收了整體式和模塊式PLC的優(yōu)點，其基本單元、擴展單元等高等寬，它們不用基板，僅用扁平電纜連接，緊密拼裝后組成一個整齊的體積小巧的長方體，而且輸入、輸出點數的配置也相當靈活。帶擴展功能的PLC，擴展后的結構即為疊裝式PLC


    Error Signal – The error signal is the difference between the measured level and the setpoint. It can be either a negative or positive value. The error signal is then added to the base signal level of the controller to create the controller output.

    For example, the base, or initial output, value of the controller may be 50% with a zero error signal. Any error signal developed by the controller is then added or subtracted to this 50% base level. Error signal is indicated with the letter “e.”
    Controller Output – The controller output is simply the total output of the controller. With the controller in automatic, the output is calculated by the controller itself.If the controller is placed in manual, the output can be manually adjusted to any desired b.
