生產(chǎn)工藝在過(guò)去進(jìn)入工業(yè)時(shí)代以后，已經(jīng)逐步成熟起來(lái)了，到現(xiàn)在我們?nèi)ジ淖円粋€(gè)工藝是很難的，因?yàn)槟芨淖兊奈覀兓径几淖兞?，就是說(shuō)工藝上對(duì)控制系統(tǒng)的處理速度很難有大的變化。對(duì)于用戶最關(guān)心的工藝流程的效率或者精細(xì)度提升而言，其實(shí)從兩方面可以去優(yōu)化它，一個(gè)是它的整個(gè)的生產(chǎn)流程管理、整個(gè)的物料這方面的精細(xì)化管理。另一個(gè)就是對(duì)設(shè)備的精細(xì)化管理。
但是在這一塊來(lái)看，其實(shí)我們?cè)O(shè)備在過(guò)去20年上一代高端控制器的能力控制下，它的處理速度是沒有任何問(wèn)題的，可以完全滿足工藝需求的，更快的控制系統(tǒng)對(duì)于改善和提升工廠的運(yùn)營(yíng)收益已經(jīng)很難體現(xiàn)價(jià)值了。就像在高速公路上跑，你跑到500邁沒有意義，因?yàn)閷?duì)于穩(wěn)定可靠性來(lái)說(shuō)，我們制造一個(gè)車能跑到200多邁就達(dá)到期望了，就夠用了，你再快的速度也用不上，反而帶來(lái)潛在危害。在這種情況下，我們一味的再去像過(guò)去的時(shí)候，去追求比一個(gè)高端處理器多快，這個(gè)已經(jīng)沒有意義了。但有一點(diǎn)跟以前一樣，它的穩(wěn)定可靠性，就像我為什么要開轎車，不去騎摩托車呢？它畢竟安全可靠性要好。
高端控制器現(xiàn)在來(lái)看，不是說(shuō)看能帶多少點(diǎn)，處理速度快到什么程度，因?yàn)檫@些發(fā)展到上一代的時(shí)候已經(jīng)不是事了，現(xiàn)在隨便拿一個(gè)中小型控制器，說(shuō)帶點(diǎn)能力和處理速度達(dá)到大型控制器的水平也都沒太大差距。但是核心的東西就是它的安全性、穩(wěn)定可靠性，它的系統(tǒng)的通訊能力，因?yàn)檫^(guò)去大型PLC主要是做大系統(tǒng)，大系統(tǒng)一定是有相互之間通訊，有協(xié)同的管理能力，與上位機(jī)通訊的能力、支持能力，這些能力都是判斷這個(gè)系統(tǒng)是高端控制系統(tǒng)，還是中小型控制系統(tǒng)。
This creates the difference that in OPERA the communication between the Authenticator, when it is a Repeater, and the Authentication Server (Which can be located at the HE or beyond it) is also transmitted over the PLC channel. This fact implies the need to send the messages encrypted, protected with a MIC, with the same rules as in the dialog between Supplicant and Authenticator, and encapsulated into OPERA packets.
Another difference is that the Supplicant can be a CPE or Repeater. So, a epeater can be first a Supplicant and later Authenticator. A smaller difference is that the Access Protocol Packet may convey not only success or failure inbation but also indication of a failed dialog. The authentication dialog allowed by IEEE802.1X/EAP allows for the use of both shared secrets and certificates. This solves the problem of OPERA1 Phase1 of authenticating only on a MAC address basis.
The new specification of OPERA is quite similar to the IEEE 802.11i and it complies with the RSNA (Robust Secure Network Association) defined in it. Nevertheless, the multihop nature of PLC, as shown in Figure 1, is a major difference with respect to wireless. In fact IEEE802.11i does not take into account the possible existence of repeaters.
