一個人到墨西哥旅游，一天黃昏時他在一個海灘漫步，忽然看見遠處有一個人在跳舞似的。走近些時，發(fā)現原來是一位土著在沙灘上拾起一些東西，然后用力地拋到海里去，并且重復不停地把拾起的東西拋到海里。
再走近些時，他看清楚原來這土著在不停地拾起由潮水沖到沙灘上的海星，逐只用力地把它拋回大海去。
他于是奇怪地趨前，向土著說：“晚安！朋友，我不明白你在干甚么?！?/span>
那人說：“我在把這些海星拋回海里。你看，現在正是潮退，海灘上這些海星全是給潮水沖到岸上來的，很快這些海星便會因缺氧而死了！”
“我明白。不過這海灘有數不盡的海星，成千上萬的，你可有能力把它們全部送回大海呢？盡管你真能做到，試想，這海岸有過百的海灘，你又怎能有功夫去處理呢？你可知道你所做的作用不大啊！”
那位土著微笑著，繼續(xù)拾起另一只海星，一邊拋一邊說：“但起碼我改變了這只海星的命運呀！”
于是他恍然大悟，是呀，雖然有很多我們美好的事情不能去實現，但從現在做起，興許就改變了一切！
