一個(gè)人到墨西哥旅游，一天黃昏時(shí)他在一個(gè)海灘漫步，忽然看見(jiàn)遠(yuǎn)處有一個(gè)人在跳舞似的。走近些時(shí)，發(fā)現(xiàn)原來(lái)是一位土著在沙灘上拾起一些東西，然后用力地拋到海里去，并且重復(fù)不停地把拾起的東西拋到海里。
再走近些時(shí)，他看清楚原來(lái)這土著在不停地拾起由潮水沖到沙灘上的海星，逐只用力地把它拋回大海去。
他于是奇怪地趨前，向土著說(shuō)：“晚安！朋友，我不明白你在干甚么?！?/span>
那人說(shuō)：“我在把這些海星拋回海里。你看，現(xiàn)在正是潮退，海灘上這些海星全是給潮水沖到岸上來(lái)的，很快這些海星便會(huì)因缺氧而死了！”
“我明白。不過(guò)這海灘有數(shù)不盡的海星，成千上萬(wàn)的，你可有能力把它們?nèi)克突卮蠛Ｄ?？盡管你真能做到，試想，這海岸有過(guò)百的海灘，你又怎能有功夫去處理呢？你可知道你所做的作用不大??！”
那位土著微笑著，繼續(xù)拾起另一只海星，一邊拋一邊說(shuō)：“但起碼我改變了這只海星的命運(yùn)呀！”
于是他恍然大悟，是呀，雖然有很多我們美好的事情不能去實(shí)現(xiàn)，但從現(xiàn)在做起，興許就改變了一切！
